With a location right on the beach we are passionate about ensuring our commitment to sustainability, in particular the fight against single-use plastic. We offer customers a 20p discount if they bring their own cup for hot drinks and also sell and rent out our enamel mugs. We are signed up to the Refill scheme and happily will fill up your water bottle for you although we would ask you to be mindful of paying customers. We are no longer stocking juice cartons with plastic straws and are always on the lookout for more sustainable alternatives to the products we sell or supply. More information about our recent sustainability review can be found here.
We operate the public toilets at Readymoney having taken them over from Cornwall Council in 2017. We have a cleaning contract with Cormac Solutions who attend the site at various frequencies, depending on the time of year. Cormac are responsible for cleaning the toilets, restocking the toilet roll and refilling the handwash. In peak season Cormac attend twice a day. We ask the Cormac operatives to sign an attendance sheet on site at each visit so that we and our customers know that the facilities have been cleaned. The Readymoney toilets are not the most glamorous but they are functional and should be clean. We have recently had a babychanging unit fitted to the disabled cubicle but would ask customers to remove any soiled nappies from the cubicle after use. We do not currently charge anyone to use the toilets, whether customers or otherwise. If you have any issues about the condition of the toilets, please do pop into the shop and let us know or contact us by email.
We organise and co-host a number of events throughout the year including Punch & Judy shows, beach cleans, a charity dog show and the New Year's Day Charity Swim. We have even hosted a 'wedding day breakfast' of coffee and freshly baked croissants for a local bride. We have a variety of ideas for new events up our sleeve so watch this space!
